lyrics

a goddess of the season is about
a goddess of the mind
a goddess takes her form
on a warm tarmacadam drive

i can see her standing by the house
a terracotta dream
a goddess turns a grey sullen day
into poetry

every time i walk down i pretend
every time i try
i am somewhere else
then the bell rings the eventide

let me know when i am nearly there
let me know when i
because i am much too young
much too young to realise

you were never divine
were never divine
there are many rooms
and many lives
no, you were never divine
would never be mine
there are many rooms

when i was a boy they brought me here
a provident day out
boxes in a row
broken roads
going nowhere

a goddess of the season even then
a goddess maybe i
a goddess made her way
through the bay window
to my mind
